Valentines Day Dress Up
Valentines Day, what does that mean to you? For me, Its just another day. Its defiantly nice to get a card and share some love but I don’t personally do a whole lot for it. Id rather keep is simple and sincere.
My lovely husband and I will probably watch a movie together and I couldn’t be happier with simply that. One thing I do enjoy of course, is dressing up. So whether your going out or staying in, dress up! I am, even if I’m sitting on my couch with some tea. Here is what Ill be wearing and a few tips on how to throw it together.
- Match up your reds and pinks. I personally love maroon and burgundy hues. They are typically falls colors that I wear throughout all winter. Grab a couple pieces that match or compliment each other.
- Pair it with a layer. This layer can be a sweater, cardigan, jacket, you name it. I like the layer to match perfectly with the outfit but this isn’t always a must.
- Bust out the tights. I love tights, even if they’re old school. Classic black tights always work but to mix it up I like to add a textured print thats still neutral enough to not take away from the main piece.
- Shoes. With a bold color on, go neutral on the shoe. If your lucky enough to find a shoe that matches your outfit exactly, rock it! Otherwise, black is always safe or go a few shades softer than the color your wearing. In winter I recommend a closed toe. Plus if your wearing tights, you don’t want them sticking out.
I chose a scalloped, lace, maroon dress with a matching cardigan. I paired a textured grey tight with a pair of flats. The flats are grey, white, in a maroon plaid print. A pearl necklace tops off the look. I also found a matching lipstick. This is my quick Valentines outfit and I hope you like it.
One thing that truly bring me joy is the Lord. I know that whatever worry I have or frustration, I can give it to Him. I pray and ask for guidance. More often than not, I ask for forgiveness for not handling things the way I know I should have. I get bent out of shape and take things too seriously. Letting things go and knowing God has them all in control is an amazing feeling. I invite you to try it too. Ask God to give you guidance and peace in all things. Then allow God to show you His blessing in your everyday.
Psalms 119:11 ESV
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
I hope you have a wonderful week and Valentines Day. Know that you are loved by the creator of all things.
